Smart Is Beautiful

Let’s start with the basics - female (obviously), 38 years old, originally from Kentucky but live in Baltimore with my spouse and dog.

Professionally, I work as the Interactive Advertising Manager for a web company.  In my old life I created a magazine called SmartWoman whose tagline was, “Because smart is beautiful.”

I consider myself to be a liberal Christian, though I’ve been told that’s an oxymoron.

I’m passionate about women’s issues, especially the idea that we should care more about the number of books we’ve read rather than the number on the scale or dress size.

This blog will surely be eclectic, but well-researched, and will include everything from useless bits of knowledge or feminist rants to intellectual debate.
